The Marietta College Biology Department works closely with a number of public agencies and private organizations.  Links to those organizations, as well as other resources, are provided here:

 

The Biology Department hosts the monthly meetings of the Marietta Natural History Society.  Use this link to see its newsletter and lists of local flora and fauna for Washington County, Ohio:

Dr. Steve Spilatro works with the Marietta City Tree Commisson.  This link takes you to a site where you can locate and identify any tree on city property:

Dr. Dave McShaffrey works with the Ohio Odonata Society.  This link takes you to the Society's web site, hosted by Marietta College.  On the site you will find images of dragonflies as well as comprehensive lists and maps of Odonata distribution throughout the state.

Several courses at Marietta College make extensive use of imaging.  This link takes you to the digital imaging handbook under development by Dr. Dave McShaffrey.  While designed for Marietta College students, it has useful tips on nature photography, photomicroscopy, digital imaging, scanning, Adobe Photoshop and more:
