Originally from Long Island, New York, Cristie Thomas has found a home in Marietta, and is Marietta College’s current Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement for Regional Associations and Young Alumni Programs. In this role, she strengthens Marietta College’s commitment to The Long Blue Line and helps current students develop lasting relationships with our valued alumni. Thomas’ background showcases a commitment to community building, leadership development, service, and nonprofit management. She has worked extensively with a variety of Christian ministry groups, and dedicated her graduate thesis to investigating the relationship between scripture and issues of social justice.
Thomas served as Marietta College’s Civic Engagement Coordinator in the Office of Civic Engagement from 2012-15. Prior to coming to Marietta College, Thomas served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in St. Petersburg, Florida, developing diversity trainings for high school students. Thomas has traveled to over 16 countries, owns a local business dedicated to providing modern, adorable baby goods, is a Staff Writer for Clutch MOV, the Mid-Ohio Valley’s online lifestyle magazine, and serves on a variety of local nonprofit committees and boards.
