Professor Golden has worked on multiple funded projects and federal grants. She received a grant to support technology development within the education department.

She is the director of the Women in the Sciences (WITS) program for girls between grades five and eight. She also helped with the grant-funded program "Marietta College Mentoring Program," which worked with 5th-, 6th-, and 7th-grade at-risk students in an after-school program.

Dr. Golden is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (Education Honorary), Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honorary), and Society for Technology and Teacher Education.

Dr. Golden presented with fellow MC faculty member, Dr. Dottie Erb, at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education Conference in Phoenix in March of 2005. She is a regular presenter at state and national conferences dealing with the integration of technology into teacher's curriculum. The title of the joint presentation was "Marietta College: Transition to Electronic Portfolios, Assessment and Accreditation." The speech focused on how the school has transitioned from paper to an electronic portfolio process for the teacher education students and how those portfolios have assisted them in meeting state and national assessment and accreditation standards.
