What can a student expect when taking one of your classes?

A very excited, passionate instructor who cares about his students and what they learn.

What excites you about teaching at Marietta College?

The ability to have individual conversations with my students inside and outside of the classroom. Being able to see them be excited about connecting with students in their field experiences. I also enjoy watching the transformation of students entering as a nervous freshman and leave as an educator who is confident, knowledgeable and has a great sense of efficacy.

When you aren’t teaching, what other activities do you enjoy?

Being with family and being a volunteer coach of The Ohio State University Men’s Swim Team (I have coached swimming for 30-plus years). Enjoy traveling the world.

Do you prefer flipping through the pages of a book or an e-book?

Definitely an e-book

What is your favorite location on campus and why?

My favorite location on campus is relaxing on the third floor of Erwin Hall.

What is your favorite Marietta College event?

There are many but I would have to say the Lip Sync, football and basketball games, and watching my students present their research at various venues across campus.
