Arrival Information

Please arrive at Hermann Fine Arts Center (500 Butler Street) during your assigned move-in day and time, our staff will direct you to your residence hall. In order to maintain a smooth and efficient move-in experience for the 1,000 students living in our residence halls, we are unable to take individual requests for specific move-in times or dates.

If you or a parent/guardian/family member require special accommodations (wheelchair accessibility, limited mobility), please feel free to contact the Office of Student Life at 740-376- 4784 so that we may assist you.

New Students

The official move-in date for incoming new students is Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Please report to Hermann Fine Arts Center to begin the check-in process. Once you have completed the check-in process and received your key please go directly to the residence hall, unload your vehicle near the hall, and then please move it to a regular parking lot. Office of Community Living staff members will provide you with instructions throughout the process and will assist you with the check-in.

Returning Students

Upper-class student move-in is on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Upper-class students should report to the Hermann Fine Arts Center to check in with staff members from the Office of Community Living.

Marietta College Police Officers and Office of Community Living staff members will provide additional instructions for the move-in process when you arrive to campus.

Early Arrival Dates

If you are scheduled to arrive to campus early due to a College-sponsored activity or an athletic team, your program coordinator will send you information regarding your arrival date and special instructions. We do ask that if you are not scheduled for an early arrival for a sponsored activity that you do not request to move-in prior to the assigned move-in dates. If you require an early move-in and are not part of a College-sponsored activity or an athletic team, please submit a request using the application available in residence (

Requests for an early arrival must be received by 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

Check-in times are 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Andrews Hall unless otherwise indicated.
