President’s Welcome

In my first days as Marietta College’s 19th President, it was important for me to meet with as many students, faculty, staff, and alumni as I could to learn about their goals and passions. I wanted a clear picture of what makes Marietta College one of the nation’s top contemporary liberal arts institutions. Not the least bit surprised, each interaction was better than the next, and they all centered on a central theme: the student experience and student success.

Their passion for this institution reassures me that joining the Marietta College family was the right decision. I think you will discover that choosing Marietta is the correct choice for you. Everyone at Marietta is here to help students find their passion in life. Along the way, we will be standing beside you as a full partner in your educational experience — letting you learn, grow and develop and focus on your goals and dreams.

Our faculty will get to know your interests and abilities and push you to excel. Our staff will make you feel at home. Our historic, picturesque campus will be your home for the next four years, and a place where you will enjoy world-class teaching and learning, an abundance of extracurricular opportunities and some of the finest athletic programs and facilities in all of Division III.

Marietta is a remarkable institution, and the experiences it offers our students over the course of their four years here will equip them with the wisdom they need to be successful immediately after graduation. Our students learn to think critically, experience a true community that allows them to be themselves, and develop significant relationships that are built on mutual respect and trust. We value and celebrate differences across campus, which allows everyone to engage in a respectful conversation.

I encourage you to get to know us better here on our website and then come visit in person so you can get a better feel for how Marietta College can impact your life — and where you make an impact on us.

Go Pioneers!!!
